The Chaska House was built in 1900, reflecting the Revival Style and attitude that flourished in turn-of-the-century Waxahachie when "Cotton was King" and life was good. Texas Highways Magazine calls it "Victorian Splendor".  Guestrooms and Cottage Suites are named after well-known authors with extensive decor and historic collections reflecting each author's lifestyle and works.

Waxahachie is located just 30 minutes south of Dallas and a 45 minute drive from DFW Airport. Dubbed "Gingerbread City" because of the numerous Victorian (gingerbread-style) homes built when "cotton was king", Waxahachie has served as the backdrop for over 30 films (3 Academy Award winners) and boasts dozens of boutiques & antiques shops, fabulous restaurants, and exciting events.

We are located just a short stroll to historic Waxahachie's town square bustling with shops, restaurants and the magnificent courthouse that James Michener called "a fairy tale palace—one of the finest buildings in Texas".

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such wonderful care of us! The Chaska House is a beautiful bed & breakfast. The décor is outstanding, the food is delicious and the total experience will be etched in our memories forever
